July and August my creative juices started to trickle a bit. I would see something and think, "That would make a nice painting" or "I could use that in a photo manip." I wasn't creating anything yet or dragging my sketchbook around with me to jot down ideas or do quick sketches. But it was a start. I did attempt to journal in a composition book I picked up but that lasted for about four days.
Then I discovered ThreadBanger.com which has a collection of DIY: Fashion and Home Decor videos geared for the 20something crowd. ThreadBanger introduced me to Janome sewing machines, and a search for local Janome dealers hooked me up with a local quilting shop. My new Janome Threadbanger TB30 arrived two weeks ago!
Suddenly my brain is bubbling with ideas using fabric and thread to create Art! This Saturday I'll be taking Thread Painting 101. Tuesdays, in October, I'll be taking a beginning quilting class to learn the basics. In the meantime I have some RenFaire costumes to sew up and a pattern to make for a new top for my convertible. So it looks like I'll be rather busy the next couple of months.
As I complete projects you'll see them being posted here. I'm back, starting small and taking it from there!
